Privacy

What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. In plain English.

The short version

  • You can read the whole site without giving us anything.
  • The compensation check runs in your browser. Your answers aren’t sent to us.
  • If you give us your email, we use it only for what you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

What we collect

When you just read the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. Our fonts and scripts are served from our own site, not from third parties.

When you use the compensation check. Nothing. The three answers stay in your browser and disappear when you close the page.

When you give us your email. Both email forms on this site sign you up to our newsletter, “This week in delays”. You get a welcome email (with the step-by-step claim guide) and then the weekly newsletter. We send it through our email provider, beehiiv, which stores your address on our behalf Because beehiiv is based in the US, your address may be stored outside the UK and EU. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time. The form is our own: it doesn’t load anything from beehiiv in your browser and doesn’t set cookies.

When you contact us. We keep your message and email address only as long as we need to reply.

Cookies

At the moment this site doesn’t use cookies for advertising or tracking. If we add advertising or analytics that need cookies, we’ll ask for your permission first, and you’ll be able to change your mind at any time.

If you click an affiliate link, the company you visit may use cookies to know you came from us. That’s covered by their own privacy policy.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR and GDPR) you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to us via the contact page. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the bottom of the page.
